Kishus are Grown in Georgia?!
Published: December 5, 2025

Yes! Kishus are native to Southern China and were first brought to the United States in the 1980s from Japan. Our kishus (and all citrus offered at our Hometown Markets) come from Franklin’s Citrus Farm, the oldest citrus farm in Coastal Georgia where exceptionally mature trees produce the most colorful and flavorful citrus. They began growing citrus in Georgia in 2010, so citrus is a fairly new crop for our state.
